Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of CoatMentor (“the service”, “we”, “us”) at coatmentor.com. By using the site or purchasing a track you agree to them. Questions: contact@coatmentor.com.

1. What the service is

CoatMentor is an independent online study aid for coating-inspector certification exams (AMPP CIP Level 1 and Level 2, and FROSIO). It provides original practice questions, timed mock exams, model answers and study feedback. It is not a certification body and does not issue certificates.

2. Accounts

The members area requires signing in with a Google account or, where it is offered, a one-time code sent to your email address; both reach the same account for the same address. You are responsible for the account you use. Purchased tracks are linked to the email address used at checkout — sign in with the same address to unlock them. You can download your study data and delete your account in the members area at any time; the purchase record is kept. For a copy of everything we hold about you, email us. 3. Purchases and payment

• Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record — they handle checkout, payment security and applicable taxes under their own terms of sale.
• Each track is a one-time purchase granting personal access to that track's content in the members area for 6 months from the date of purchase — no subscription, no recurring charges, no auto-renewal. Buying the same track again starts a new 6-month term from that purchase and never shortens the access you already have. A track bought while 12 months were sold keeps its 12 months.
• Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future buyers; changes never affect access you have already purchased.
• Retake extension: if you report in the members area that you failed your exam, we extend that track's access by 90 days, once per access term. It is not a refund.
• Invite codes: when the invite programme is open, a member's invite code gives a friend 15% off at checkout, and each order placed with it extends the member's access to their tracks by 30 days. We may end the invite programme at any time; extensions already given stay.

4. Refunds and the right of withdrawal

Purchases are final once your access has started. We do this deliberately and transparently: instead of a refund window, we open the product before you pay. The free readiness check (12 CIP Level 1 or CIP Level 2 questions, or 6 FROSIO written prompts, no email required) shows the exact question style, explanation depth and written-answer format used across the full tracks — please judge the quality there before buying.

After checkout, the members area asks you to start your access, and nothing from the track is delivered until you do. If you buy as a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days for as long as you have not started your access. When you start it, you expressly agree that access begins before the withdrawal period ends and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal; we keep a record of that confirmation (when you gave it and which order it concerns); we also email you a copy of it.

To withdraw or to ask about a refund, write to contact@coatmentor.com; refunds are issued through Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record, which also applies its own buyer terms. When a purchase is refunded, access to that track ends. Statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived remain unaffected.

5. Fair use of the content

All questions, model answers, explanations and other content are our copyrighted work. Your purchase gives you personal, non-transferable access to study that content in the members area. You may not:

• share your account or resell, publish or redistribute the content;
• copy, scrape, or bulk-export questions or answers, or use them to build a competing product or to train a machine-learning model;
• circumvent the site's technical protections.

We may suspend accounts that materially breach these rules. Genuine study use — including personal notes and translations for your own revision — is always fine.

6. AI-assisted marking

FROSIO written answers can be pre-marked by an AI model against our model answers. This is an assistive feature: it can make mistakes, you always keep the final say over your own marks, and if the feature is unavailable the self-marking checklist works without it.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available and improving, and we may add, update or correct content at any time. If the service is ever discontinued, we will give purchasers reasonable notice at the email address linked to their purchase.

8. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the affected purchase. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
